Although the busy season is here, I managed to still sneak out for a couple of amazing fishing sessions, this is the bonus with the quick and easy preparation when heading out on the FISH PRO. Check out my latest two videos! The new hot bait which has been working a treat is the Gulp 7" King Shrimp, with Swamp Gas and Banana Prawn working especially well.

Hot Local Fishing!

The water temperature is warming up and the fish are in a frenzy in the Hauraki Gulf in New Zealand. The work-up season has arrived and the Gannets and Dolphins have been busy herding up the bait fish, with Snapper beneath.

I have been enjoying some very special days on the water using the new FISH PRO. The FISH PRO has proven extremely popular, with hundreds of kiwi fisherman eager to purchase the Sea-Doo fishing weapon.

Adding the upgrade option of Fishing Charts is money well spent to help hunting the fish with the Garmin unit. These charts are now available for shipping to our New Zealand customers at the Adventure Fishing shopping website.

Demand has well exceeded availability in New Zealand on the FISH PRO and there will be a few that miss out this side of Xmas! One angler who won't be disappointed is Mark Richardson, he was out with me using his FISH PRO this week for its first adventure.

We have been seeing some amazing sights while being out there! Check out the video of my recent Dolphin experience on the Hauraki Gulf in Auckland.

The Fish Pro is here!

I have been fishing off personal watercraft for well over a decade now and still remember the day clearly, pondering on how I could make the concept of fishing off a watercraft a reality.
This vision first started when my children and I set off on a fishing adventure holding our rods, but not long after setting off on our journey we quickly realised we had no where to store the fish or the rods.
I enjoy designing and engineering projects, so after brainstorming some innovative ideas, the Ultimate Rod Holder was born. This was just the beginning of this amazing journey and to follow was the development of a line of watercraft fishing products and accessories in my ‘Ultimate’ brand.
For many years I had contemplated the economics of a dedicated personal watercraft for fishing, and would a manufacturer share the same vision, engage my ideas, research and development. This vision, for a manufacturer to use some of my experience from NZ to produce a product rugged enough for the offshore fishing experience was to come to reality.
With a considerable number of hours spent enjoying time on the water I had more time than most to analyse ideas. The concept of someone from little old NZ having an influence on the first production fishing unit seemed unrealistic from the other side of the world!
I was wrong, behind the scenes manufacturers had been watching the excitement of the sport I had grown in our region for many years. There had been plenty of phone calls to me, visits and much talk that one day it could happen.
Over the years I created fishing videos and events which had more than just us in NZ excited!  Sea-Doo also saw the potential to take this sport to the world market. As a lead innovator, I was confident Sea-Doo would tick all the boxes to the highest level. That’s where I come in... I was approached to share my knowledge to help design and produce the industry first watercraft built for fishing.
Being involved for the last couple of years with the Fish Pro project has been an amazing adventure. Revealing the new product in Colorado last week on the stage in front of a few thousand people was a proud and emotional moment. For the world to see what is an industry first, designed by the Sea-Doo team with all fishing enthusiasts in mind and influenced by my New Zealand experience and the passion for the sport.
Now over ten years on and I have been able to fulfil my dream with the number one personal watercraft manufacturer Sea-Doo supporting my vision and showing the initiative to bring a personal watercraft for fishing to the world market.

Alongside working with the Sea-Doo team developing this product, I am also privileged to be the Sea-Doo Fish Pro Brand Ambassador, I represent Sea-Doo and am the voice of this amazing new and innovative platform for the global market.
I am excited to tell you more about the Fish Pro as it is highly featured and designed to suit many on the water personal water craft fishing methods. Check out the introduction video.

Cheers
Andrew Hill
Sea-Doo Fish Pro Brand Ambassador

Big Baits, Big Catch!

If you haven't been getting out on the water, you are missing out on one of the best times of the year to fish. I have been on another adventure to the region of our next social trip and once again it didn't disappoint! This massive Snapper was caught on the new Gulp 10" Eel, available online.

These big Snapper put some serious hurt on the gear so if you are targeting them, be prepared with the right equipment for the job. The rig I used to catch this 23 pounder was caught with the following gear

Check out the video action and this fish being weighed in on the scales.

The big baits had consistently good results attracting the better sized fish, we also had the bonus of catching some nice sized Trevally as well. This session was epic, with more fish released than kept, days like that are an experience of a lifetime.

This adventure included a record sized Snapper for Charlie, going 31 pound!

Pete also lived up to his name with another 20 pounder on a Gulp bait!

Limit your catch!

The base for our next social trip at Doubtless Bay has a number of stunning fishing locations. With the lack of fishing pressure, this region has delivered some exceptionally hot fishing on a number of occasions! There are a wide variety of fish species, which adds to the excitement with what each cast will catch.
For this adventure I trialed the new 10" Gulp Eels, the Snapper went crazy for them! Easily rigged with the 2oz Elevator Rig made for another fishing day we will never forget.
If you too would like to catch some fish in this area, I recommend signing up while there are still some spots for our final social trip for the year. Every trip to the destination of Doubtless Bay is a fun adventure and the opportunity to catch a fish of a lifetime.
Here is the first of my latest video action.  You will see the power of the big Trevally in the Far North.
Next up some serious action on the softbaits and an encounter with an unexpected Shark.
When the fishing gets this hot, it's best practice to limit your catch and not catch your limit. We are fortunate to have a great fishery in New Zealand and it would be lovely for future generations to be able to enjoy it as we do. Plenty of the fish I catch are for the sport and I release more than what I choose to keep.
Keep tuned to my Facebook page, there are plenty of fun activities on over the next month. The New Zealand Jetskifishing Club is also hosting a guest speaker for a soft bait seminar with Paul Chen, make sure you are signed up.

Epic Father and Son Fishing Adventure!

It is winter here in New Zealand but this doesn't stop us heading out to enjoy some of the best fishing we can experience in the year. As you will see, we prepare with the appropriate winter apparel to keep us warm. Our first layer is the warm and comfortable thermal Sharkskin clothing, followed by wet weather gear for any saltwater spray. The masks add to the comfort by avoiding any unexpected spray or winter wind chill while riding. On this road trip adventure Cooper and I headed to the base of our next social trip the Ramada Resort Taipa, in the Far North. The fishing was another couple of sessions that we will remember for life! Don't miss out on joining us at our next adventure up in the Far North, you will also have the chance to win part of the $3,500 cash prize pool while enjoying another cool fishing adventure.
Enjoy watching our latest to videos.

The next morning we headed to Cape Reinga, which is a short 1 hour 45 minute road trip from our base.
